Leah's new 'do!

For a while now Leah has been bugging me to get her hair cut. She is always pulling it out of it's braids or ponytails to leave it down. So tonight - she went in and got it cut.

BEFORE......

and AFTER.....

It turned out really cute! She is quite excited about it. :-)

Little League has ended

Saturday Ryan had his last little league game for the season. Afterward we had a picnic and the players got a certificate, medal and trophie.

Busy Busy

We have been keeping busy. Ryan had his last little league game on Saturday. He did really and well and enjoyed the season. After the game they had a picnic and handed out medals and trophies to all the kids.

On Tuesday Leah starts gymnastics. She is pretty excited about it. I think that she will have a lot of fun with it as she is alwasy jumping around, trying to do cartwheels, flips, and the splits.

And...why should the kids have all the fun. I joined a softball league and play Friday nights. I have never played before - but I am not too bad. Ryan has given me some helpful tips - "mom - you know that you can slide!". I am also playing volleyball on Thursday nights. Last week was my first game. I had a lot of fun except for bruising my thumb and arms pretty good.

I figured this was enough to keep us running for the summer. :-)

Fishing Trip

Last Friday Ryan headed off for a week of fishing in northern Canada. He went with one of his friends, his friends dad and another guy. They left around midnight (so the boys would sleep) for a 15 hour drive. Then they hopped on a little plane and flew into camp. There were two guides and two boats. The group would go out fishing in the morning and then cook a shore lunch with the fish that they caught. Then back out for an afternoon of fishing. There isn't any phones, etc at the camp so I didn't hear from Ryan all week. He got home yesterday around 8:30 am. He had a great time and caught a bunch of fish. I now have a freezer full of walleye and northern pike. He looks like he has the chicken pox or something - he got completely bit up. I will post some photos when I get them. It was an awesome experience for him - he is hoping to be able to go again sometime.

Last day of school

Thursday was the last day of school. They have "field days" where the kids get to participate in races, games, crafts, face painting, nail salon, etc. It is funny - all the boys get their nails painted. I volunteered to help out for the day. I got to help with crafts and hand out ice cream. Here is a photo of leah acting like a cat - she had her face painted to look like one. She made her necklace in crafts! :-)
And of course - she won the candy guessing contest and won the bucket full of candy!

Here she is with her teacher - Mrs. Steiner. She was a great teacher and Leah really enjoyed being in her class.
The kids have a week off and then....... Summer School!

Finally - an update!!

Ok, it has been a while since I updated. Nic - It guy from work had my computer to do some updates so I didn't have it to use.

Memorial Weekend I went to Charleston to visit Lisa. We had a fabulous time hanging out, running 3 laps around the mall and crashing a southern plantation wedding.

We also went to the beach one day where Lisa took this awesome photo. I got completely fried - even though I put sunscreen on!
Ryan got to do the Scouting at the zoo event. They built the go-carts and practiced for a couple of weeks. There were drivers and pushers. Ryan was a pusher. Each team had to complete 6 laps, with a "pit stop" between each lap to switch people. It was a lot of fun. His pack took 4th place.
He is the one pushing. He even lost his shoe on one lap - but kept on going!
Here is a photo of Leah and her friend Brenna hanging out att he races
Otherwise we have been keeping busy - lots of bike rides, etc. Just waiting for school to end.
