Skiing!!

This past weekend the kids had off 1/2 a day on Thursday, Friday and Monday. So we thought that we would go up to Michigan skiing. The trip started out a little rough. Mom volunteered to watch Penny for the weekend so we had to drop her off. For some reason the car ride didn't agree with her and she threw up 3 times on the way - once all over Ryan!! Yuck!! (we didn't tell mom that). After dropping her off and getting the car cleaned out, the rest of the trip went pretty well.
Leah was very excited about skiing. She had two hours of lessons Friday morning to learn the basics and then off she went. She skied the "big hill" very well and was pretty happy. Here she is posing with my poles. She didn't understand why she couldn't have "handles".

Here is a photo of Ryan at the top of a hill ready to go down. He had a lot of fun over the weekend. We were skiing with two other couples so there were 5 kids running and playing together.

Boyscout - Blue & Gold Banquet

Tonight Ryan had his Blue & Gold banquet for Boyscouts. They had it at a banquet hall. It was an Hawaiian theme. Ryan moved from Wolf scouts to Bear scouts.
The top photo is Ryan during the ceremony of moving to Bear scouts. Here is a photo of Ryan in his boyscout dress.

Leah participated in a contest with 3 other girls. She won a teddy bear.

The Ballet

On Thursday I was invited to attend the Milwaukee Ballet. It was a great time. The ballet was a contempory ballet, which was different, yet fun to see. The dancers have amazing tallent - very strong and flexible. I think that Leah would enjoy seeing it also. I would like to see a traditional ballet also to be able to compare the difference. It is nice to be able to experience some of the things that Milwaukee has to offer.

Disney on Ice

As a member of the Daiseys - Leah (and me & Ryan) went to see Disney on Ice - Mickey & Minnies Magical Journey. It was very good. The kids had a great time. I think that this photo is from the Little Mermaid part. There were about 8 other girls from her troop that attended.

100 Desserts!! Yummy!!

For school - they celebrate the 100th day of school. Each child in Leah's class had to do a "collection" of 100 items. Leah decided to make a collage of 100 desserts and bring in brownies for everyone. She had a lot of fun making her collage and picking out her favorite items. It is a good thing that I keep all my Taste of Home magazines!

Stone Fire Pizza

On Friday night Ryan and Leah had thier first birthday party down here. It was Leah's friend Maya's birthday and they invited Ryan to go and play with Jason - Maya's brother who is in Ryan's class. It was at the Stone Fire Pizza which is like an upscale Chucky Cheese. Good food and a lot more stuff to play on.
Here is Leah and Ryan on the rock climbing wall.

This is Leah's favorite thing - the Frog Hopper ride. Leah is the 3rd one in from the Left. It just goes up and then drops down. She loved it!

Penny got a bath!

We decided that Penny needed a bath. So we got some puppy shampoo and got to work. Ryan and Leah had to get their suits on and jump in the tup with her. They had fun and it went pretty well - not too big of a mess!! :-) She only got out of the tub a couple of times. Next time I have to try to dry her better - the house smelled of wet dog for the rest of the night!
