Fun Updates

As many of you know, in January I started donating blood platelets on a regular basis. Sometimes my iron is not high enough and I get turned away, but they have a new tester and can prick both fingers - that seems to be working better as one usually makes the cutoff. That being said, when I went in this week they told me that I have donated over a gallon of platelets! It is a good feeling to know that I am helping people. A couple of the times I went in they had my chart marked and my platelets were going directly to Children's Hospital to help someone. Platelets have a shelf life of only 5 days so they are always in need of donations.

I am also having difficulties dealing with a guy who I am not interested in. Even though I told him flat out that I was not interested, he does not seem to be getting it. Leah decided to give me some advice. She said mom - just do what I do when I want to get rid of a boy that I don't like - I just push him down and laugh at him and run away! :-) I wish it were that easy!

Two days ago I looked at the lunch menu and knew that Ryan would not eat a bite of anything and would just drink his milk and be done. I don't like that because he needs to eat something and not be starving all day. I am always telling him to pack a lunch if he does not like the menu for that day. He finally told me why he won't pack a lunch - his lunch box is from a few years ago - he said it was too little kid like and he when he brings it he feels like " a little boy skipping to school". I looked at his lunch box and agreed - so I have to get him a new more grown up one. So two days ago I decided to surprise him and bring him lunch. He was surprised to see me. Typically he does not want me to stay - that is tooo embarrassing! I said - don't worry - I am not planning on staying, I just wanted to make sure that you got something to eat. He was really sweet - he told me that he loved me and that I could stay! Wow! That lasted about 5 minuted until his friends all had gotten their lunch and were sitting down. He then looked at me and told me that I could go now. :-)

Fun with Sisters!

This weekend we has some fun seeing Sue and Stephanie. On Friday we went to see Sue's soccer game. Leah thought that it would be a good idea to make some signs to cheer with. Her friend Kayla came along also. They cheered briefly and then decided it was more fun to play soccer in a back area. They also thought it was pretty cool to be able to play on the field after the game was finished.

Stephanie came to visit because she had a bridal shower to go to. It was nice to be able to spend some time with her. She also gave the trampoline a try and had some fun bouncing with Leah.
