China - June 2011

I just got back from another work trip to China. This trip was very interesting - I was visiting the factories with our QC people. It is different than seeing the showrooms and such. We were all over China - different hotel almost every night. Below is a photo of me and Julia. She works in the Shanghai office and is super sweet! Ryan was very happy because she found a place to buy Yugioh cards.

One of the factories was in the middle of nowhere. We had to drive almost 5 hours to get there. Our driver told us that we needed to get some food and drinks at the gas station because there was nothing where we were going. The area was very poor - farming. The hotel we stayed at used to be a resort with cave tours and such, but it all ended when they started to mine the mountains. It was still very pretty.

The factory people knew that we did not have anywhere to go for dinner so they called the snake catcher and got us a lovely 6 pound water snake to eat. Here is a photo of it - pieces of snake - skin and all.

They also served us some bumble bee whisky (shown below) and some snake bile whisky. They were pretty interesting.
