The Bear Den

On Sunday afternoon, Ryan had a field trip for boy scouts. They went to the Bear Den petting zoo.

Here Ryan is making friends with the goat...

Leah liked the little piggies...
Here are the scouts on the wagon ride.

It was a neat place. They had a bear, tiger, goats, pigs, an albino thing, wolves and all sorts of things. There was also a pumpkin patch and a haunted zoo that is supposed to be pretty scary.

Blue Harbor

On Saturday we went to say at the Blue Harbor water park in Sheboygan. I had gotten a free stay so we thought we would try it out. It is an awesome place and I would recommend it. Besides getting to swim in the super water park, Ryan and Leah got to go trick-or-treating. Here is a picture of them with their "Pirate" guide.

Then they went to the haunted ship where they got to play games and win prizes.
After that it was story time with Pepper the Pirate along with milk and cookies and then it was off to enjoy a magic show. The guy was from Green Bay and was pretty good.

Here is Ryan and Leah on a lilly pad...
Leah on the snake..
Ryan with his friend he made waiting for the bucket to fill up and drop on them.
There was also a hayride, yoga classes, beach walks, etc. Lots to keep everyone busy.

Leah's busy day!

Leah's day began with a field trip to Apple Hollar for school. I took the day off and went along as a chaparone. Other than being cold and windy it was a fun trip. They had a corn maze, cow maze, hay bale houses, play area, Johnny Appleseed show, hay ride, and everyone got a (small) pumpkin and apple.
A fun part was the goat bridge that the goats would walk on to get to different areas of the orchard.
Then she was off to Brownie scouts for a little ceremony. Her troop has 15 girls now.
After Brownies it was off to gymnastics were her tooth fell out. So she has her tooth fairy pillow all ready to put under her pillow tonight.
now she is hopefully in bed sleeping......

12 INCHES!!!!

About a week ago I decided it was time for a change. I had an appointment for a haircut and told the stylist to just cut it - however she thought it would look good.
So...here is the before...
And here is the after....

It took a little getting used to. But it takes a lot less time to dry it! She ended up cutting over a foot off. It is a nice change.

Ryan is 9!

How time flys! It is hard to believe that Ryan is 9 already. He celebrated his birthday with a Pirate themed party at the house. It was very hot (90) and humid - especially for October. He wanted an icecream cake with chocolate chip cookie dough icecream.

The kids played some games including an obstical course and a treasure hunt. At the end of the hunt was the treasure chest pinyata.

Here is a photo of Ryan with his friends at the party. They ended up playing drip drip drop to cool down.
Overall he had a fun time running and playing with his friends.

Harvest Fair

A couple of weekends ago Stephanie and I took Claire and Ava to Harvest Fair. They had a petting zoo and Claire loved the big turtle.

The girls also liked going down the giant pig slide. This is Claire coming out the tail.
Ava had to help make a caramel apple to take home to daddy.
And to top it all off...they had a corn box! Stephanie imediately knew what it was....being from Iowa and all!
It was a fun afternoon with lots for the girls to do.
