I'm a winner!!

Yea! On Saturday I had my holiday party for work. There are always some very nice prizes. I ended up winning a new digital camera - which I really needed. Mine was quite old. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. :-)

Bowling

A few blogs ago you saw Ryan bowling for scouts. At the derby they handed out the trophies and he ended up getting 2nd place - which was very cool.

Pinewood Derby

On Friday, Ryan had the Pinewood Derby for scouts. Here is his car getting ready to go...

In the Slammer!

Tonight for Boyscouts they got to tour the Greenfield City Police Department. The boys had a lot of fun and asked quite a few interesting questions. The building is pretty new and was quite high tech. They now have a computer system to take finger prints - no more ink pad.

Go Pack!!!!

WhoHoo!!! I was fortunate to be able to attend the game on Saturday. It was such an awesome game to be at - snow and all!

Slot Car Racing

On Wednesday, Ryan and the boyscouts were able to go slot car racing. They had a lot of fun. They each got to race 6 times, once in each lane. Ryan did ok, but had a blast racing.

The real thing

Ryan got the actual cast put on last Friday. He chose bright green. I was a little upset because they would not give him a water proof cast. I guess they are not as stable as the regular ones. The good news is that he only has to have it on for 3 weeks and then a splint on for 3 weeks.

Broken Elbow??

Last night Ryan and Leah went to see the Harlem Globetrotters play. They had a great time and it was a very fun show. On the way out Ryan was goofing around with one of his friends and tripped down the stairs. He ended up fracturing his left elbow. He has a splint on for now and will go back in a couple of days and get the actual cast put on. He will need to keep it on for 8 weeks. It will be difficult for him because he can not go to gym class, recess, sledding, skiing, play in the snow, etc. He can't even wear his coat. He is pretty active so it will be interesting to see how he adjusts.
He couldn't put his shirt back on because it wouldn't fit over the temp. cast, so the nurse gave him this t-shirt to wear.

Nutcracker Ballet

On Friday Leah and I got to go to see the Nutcracker Ballet. It was very neat to go and see. We were not allowed to take picures during the ballet, but here we are in front of some pictures.

Here are some of the cast members. To the far right is one of the mice. Leah loved the dancers and all the different costumes. I think that she will remember this special experience.
