A quick visit and a new Penny!

This past weekend we took a little road trip. Friday evening we left and drove to Madison and stayed at "Uncle Tom's Hotel". Ryan had a lot of fun visiting and showing Uncle Tom his Captain Underpants book and playing with his Yugio cards. Saturday morning we went out for breakfast at the famous diner and both Ryan and Leah had to have their cappuccino. I asked the waitress to make them "special" ones! The kids loved it.

Then we headed on to Iowa to see Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Ethan, Claire and Ava. They had an early Christmas present for Ryan. He was very excited to get a new puppy!! He decided to name her Penny - because she is copper colored like a penny.

Ryan loves to hold Penny and cuddle with her. This is ok sometimes, but not all the time. We stopped on the way home to let Penny out for a walk. I looked up and Ryan is walking around the parking lot carrying her! :-) I had to tell him that this was time for the doggy to get some exercise. She is doing really well. We are trying to stop her from nipping at peoples feet.

Tonight she got to visit Grandpa and Grandma! They thought that she was pretty cute too - until she peed on Grandma's floor - oops! She is still learning.
